Valerie Wagner, CNP

Valerie Wagner is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 30 years of healthcare experience as a registered nurse across diverse healthcare settings, including rural critical access hospitals, long-term care, public health, school nursing, and family home visiting. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from South Dakota State University (1996), a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Western Governors University (2024), and a post-master’s certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Western Governors University (2026).

Valerie is licensed to practice in South Dakota and is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She provides comprehensive primary care to patients across the lifespan, with a strong focus on building meaningful relationships with individuals and families to address medical needs, support disease prevention, and promote long-term health and wellness.

Her professional certifications include Long-Term Care Infection Prevention, Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and certification as a Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiner.

In addition to her clinical work with Modern Day Health Care, Valerie values time spent with her family and enjoys rural life, including working with cattle, farming, gardening, canning, and motorcycling.
