Sandy Summers, DNP

Sandra Summers, DNP, FNP-BC, is a nationally certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) with nearly three decades of advanced practice nursing experience. She has been practicing as a nurse practitioner since 1995 and brings a depth of clinical, academic, and regulatory expertise to her work.

Dr. Summers earned both her Master of Science in Nursing and her Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees from the University of Colorado. She is an experienced clinician in both traditional face-to-face settings and telehealth. She strongly believes that telehealth can augment high-quality patient care while significantly improving access to healthcare services, particularly for underserved and rural populations.

Committed to lifelong learning and clinical excellence, Dr. Summers actively participates in ongoing professional education and regularly attends the National Nurse Practitioner Symposium and other medical and nursing conferences to remain current with evidence-based practice and emerging healthcare trends.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Summers has an extensive background in nursing regulation. She served six years on the Colorado Board of Nursing, concluding her tenure as Board President, during which she contributed to policy development, regulatory oversight, and the advancement of nursing practice standards.

While maintaining current APRN licensure and an active clinical practice, Dr. Summers also serves as a nursing educator. She teaches online graduate and undergraduate nursing courses for various universities, mentoring the next generation of nurses and nurse practitioners.

Outside of her professional roles, Dr. Summers enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is passionate about promoting optimal wellness during every patient encounter and is dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
