Mikala Simon, DPT

Dr. Mikala Simon is originally from Aberdeen, SD. She went to University of South Dakota, where she studied Biology and Chemistry to receive her Bachelors of Science. She went on to earn her Doctorates of Physical Therapy from Rockhurst University in Kansas City. During her time at Rockhurst she had the opportunity to travel to Nicaragua for a missions trip. This furthered Mikala's passion for helping others in as many ways as she could. Mikala has particular work interests in helping women with pelvic pain and urinary incontinence as well as creating fun ways for pediatric patients to meet their goals.

Mikala has nearly six years experience in the field of physical therapy with one year specifically in telehealth. She has spoken to several groups regarding women's health and functional play. Mikala was also the key note speaker for Women in Science Conference in 2015. She has taken one of her passions, functional play times for children, and created a small business called Stages of FUN. Through this business she is able to help children gain physical skills through play by recommending activities and purposeful toys. She is also working on writing encouraging and self-empowering children's books.

In her free time, Mikala enjoys spending time with her two daughters and husband while kayaking, biking and family walks. She practices yoga and vlogs with her sister about motherhood for fun.

Mikala is excited to be part of Modern Day Health Care's team and is proud to be part of leading physical therapy into the future with telehealth.
