Dr. Mikala Simon is originally from Aberdeen, SD and was recently voted Best Physical Therapists in Aberdeen through the People's Choice Awards - American News. Mikala is also MDHC's Therapy Director. Her passion is to help women regain their confidence in life by improving strength, stability and lessening pain and urinary leakage.
She went to University of South Dakota, where she studied Biology and Chemistry to receive her Bachelors of Science. She went on to earn her Doctorates of Physical Therapy from Rockhurst University in Kansas City. During her time at Rockhurst she had the opportunity to travel to Nicaragua for a missions trip. This furthered Mikala's passion for helping others in as many ways as she could. Mikala has particular work interests in helping women with pelvic pain and urinary incontinence as well as creating fun ways for pediatric patients to meet their goals.
Mikala has nearly eight years experience in the field of physical therapy with two specifically in telehealth. She has spoken to several groups regarding women's health and functional play. Mikala was also the key note speaker for Women in Science Conference in 2015.
In her free time, Mikala enjoys spending time with her two daughters and husband while kayaking, biking and family walks. She practices and teaches yoga and vlogs with her sister about motherhood for fun.
